I started skydiving after a tandem skydive in June 2006 to raise funds for my daughters playgroup. It was the most exciting thing I had ever done.

I took the RAPS course the week after my Tandem skydive.
I gained my A licence qualifying through RAPS during 2007 and am now working towards my B licence – all progressions were through Skydive London.

I soon learnt to pack parachute systems and helped out around the airfield, refuelling the plane, catching tandems, hoovering the packing area, washing and repairing the jumpsuits, helping the girls out in the office and I can also be found with my head down the toilet cleaning away!

For your charity jump or to learn to Skydive – the team at Skydive London will teach, nurture and inspire you – it’s truly life changing!

Brucie Johnson
Brucie has been skydiving for 16 years and has over 2,000 jumps and 24 hours total freefall time. He holds British Static Line (CSI), Tandem and Formation Skydiving Instructor ratings. He likes to freefly, enjoys using a birdman suit to prolong his freefall time and canopy swooping when not instructing.

His future plans include gaining his pilots license and his Accelerated Free Fall instructors rating.

Geoff "BPWT" Kent
"I took up skydiving in 1981 & after 70 odd, mostly unsuccessful, jumps decided to take up flying. Started flying in October 1983, & obtained my licence in April 1984. I started flying skydivers in 1990 & up 'til April 2008 had amassed over 2,300 flying hours & done nearly 3,000 para drops. I hold UK & US licences & regularly fly in the US. In my 18 years as a jump-pilot, I've been fortunate enough to fly at most of the DZ's in the UK & Jersey & have just spent some time in Ireland helping the guys there as they introduce the Airvan into their operation."

Howard White
I have been involved with the sport for the last 6 to 7 years. First introduced to skydiving by a friend (crazy fool) I got involved in doing some promo work for Martin Williams (Phd/TeamPumpkin) and it all went from there. I started working closely with Brucie and the team at Skydivelondon when they first started operating at Redlands Airfield in 2004 and have been here ever since. Also pack parachutes, fuel aircraft and anything else to help out. Enjoy being part of the team and keen to promote the sport and facilities. Have also been known to enjoy the odd beer when we have all finished for the day.

Shane Wood
Shane has been jumping for 12 years with over 1400 jumps. He hold British tandem instructor rating. Shane has competed all over the world doing formation skydiving and has a national gold medal in 4way in the top drawer somewhere.

Jeremy "Jez" Cooper
I am originally from New Zealand where I did my first jump in April 1994 on static line. It scared me so much I didn't jump again for a whole year, but I couldn't not do another one, and another, and still going! After 8 years jumping in New Zealand, I went to the USA in 2003 and stayed for a couple of years. I spent two seasons working as a parachute packer, firstly at Boston Providence Skydiving Centre and then Skydive San Diego. I visited 35 different DZs and made over 500 jumps in the US as I travelled around. In June 2005 I arrived in England and began working at Redlands where I have been ever since. As we begin the 2008 season I have 1250 jumps and have recently begun instructing in the sport. Blue skies! Jeremy

Rob Zealley
I started jumping in 1987 and reached my 1,000th jump in October 2007. Over the years I've jumped in the UK, USA, France, Germany, Spain and Israel. I've been an instructor since 1999 and, several hundred students later, still get a buzz from seeing people I've started off on their skydiving careers progress in the sport. I've been at Redlands since the beginning, and was on the very first lift here on 13 May 2001. I also fly microlights from Redlands, and there is a crater in the runway to prove it!

James Snelgrove
Known around the DropZone as 'Ewok', James originated from the forest moon of Endor but was banished when he shed his covering of hair. I decided to join the world of skydiving after a poor time at university and desiring something new. Having very little money to spare to the cause, Brucie offered up the position of FML (fast moving lackey) in return for jump tickets. I started learning through the RAPS process and have found it to provide a good all round knowledge at each stage. James now spends his time keeping the plane fueled and running around on busy days helping to keep things running smooooooth. He can often be found on rainy DZ days working the 'arch', or wasting time on YouTube.
