Hi Brucie You have not been forgotten – it’s just that one of our skydivers has suffered a serious relapse (one of the major hazards of MS) and is only now recovering and still has a little sponsorship to bring in. But it’s nearly year end so I’m writing with our full fundraising total to date. And it’s quite something! The June team of ten, between them, raised £8,044 and our August lass raised £1,002 so that makes a grand skydive total of £9,046 for 2011. We think that’s quite stunning for just eleven people, and we are particularly proud of our four June people with MS who, against all the odds raised £6,929 of that total amount. It just goes to show that there’s no such word as “can’t”. Brucie, thank you so much for making this opportunity for our people to skydive and for helping us to raise so much badly needed money. We hope to come back to you in 2012 with another team; we will keep you posted! Meantime, best wishes for a happy Christmas and a healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2012. Kind regards Janet x

The last Friday in September was a beautiful day & I finally got to SkyDive at the 3rd attempt. Thank you Dylan for an amazing experience and thanks to everyone at SkyDive London. I have raised over 400 to date so I will be able to take the patients on a 'Grand Day Out'as I planned. My granddaughter, now 6months old is already hearing about how I flew in the sky She had better get used to it as she will be hearing about it all her life!

I don't know if you remember us from a few weeks ago but she had such a fantastic day that I thought I'd email you directly with my comments. I'd be very grateful if you'd pass them on to the other guys as well?

 

I bought this Red Letter day as a Christmas present for Andrea, and I have to say the whole experience was excellent - it exceeded her and my expectations. The whole skydiving crew at the airfield - the instructors, and the camera men - were a really cool bunch of guys, which really helped make a great day to remember. 

 

And when the edited dvd of her jump arrived, it completely wowed both of us! 

The weather was ideal - blue skies and sunshine, with white fluffy clouds below, and the filming and photography was great. It's really inspired both of us, and she can't stop talking about it and watching the dvd.

She's seriously thinking about taking up skydiving now, and I'm mighty tempted myself. 

Thank you for a truly fantastic day to remember for both of us :)

Hi Brucie,

 

I just wanted to thank you again for enabling me to have the most fabulous skydiving experience.  I really don’t have words good enough to describe it. The conditions were perfect on Friday and I even enjoyed being held for 10 minutes at 10,000ft.  I loved falling out into a clear sky and being able to see the ground the whole way down.  Swinging around under the canopy was fun too.  I have re-lived it all time after time and will continue to do so.  I don’t think I need to do another one as that one was so fantastic it just couldn’t be bettered, and I will treasure the memory for the rest of my life.  I am looking forward to seeing Johnny’s efforts on the camera.

 

You are a generous and lovely man and I very much enjoyed jumping with you.

THANK YOU so much for an AWESOME tandem skydive experience on Sunday 14th August! I had an amazing time and will remember it forever. A massive thank you to Matt Attridge for looking after me and affording me the experience of a lifetime, you are a fantastic guy Matt! As Matt knew I was raising money for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance in memory of our 18 year old son Greg who was killed in a car crash in May 2009. A 26 year old man is now service 5 years for death by dangerous driving. The air ambulance saved his girlfriends life and she has made an incredible recovery. When I jumped on Sunday I had raised £4500 but it seems the donations are still coming in and I expect to reach £5000 which is amazing!

 

The DVD of my jump which arrived yesterday is fantastic! Thanks to Pieter and the film crew for a fantastic film. A friend managed to up load it to 'YouTube' last night in time for what would have been Greg's 21st birthday yesterday so Matt you are on the www!  The service you provide is truly remarkable and the Sky Dive centre is something to be genuinely proud of. I have spoken with all the other participants and everyone is reeling from their experience at the weekend. It really was a remarkable day and I still can’t quite believe that we did it.

Thought you’d like to know that everyone of my 25 June team who has jumped is absolutely high as a kite; some want to do it again, others will just cherish the moment (and the dvd) but all of them without exception found it the most exhilarating experience ever.  And they’ve all said how well they were looked after by your team, how good the briefing was – and what a nice cafe you have!

 

Just two more to go (Liz Ranger and Roger Forbes, booked in on 23/7) (and our “extra”, Tracey Williams on 6/8). 

 

And the fundraising!  Two of them are well over the £1,000 mark on Justgiving, a third has just had a single donation of £500 come in from a supporter and there’s masses more to come from most of them.  Would you like to know the grand total once it’s all in?  This sort of money is seriously important to us; we’re not yet very big but we are growing rapidly (and moving to a new building next year) and individuals raising £1,000+ for this kind of experience is seriously good news.

Did the static line jump yesterday in glorious bright sunshine after the
training two weeks ago!  Would like to say the  only criticism would be only
lasted approx. 3.5-4 mins! Could have done with at least 33 mins  flying in
the air. Wow what a feeling of peace and calm. In fact the most terrify
aspect of the whole experience was the training!!!! The emphasis was on the
what if scenarios in an emergency. So was fully prepared. Safety seemed to
be paramount at all times and this assists in a smooth transition from the
air onto the ground. Will seriously consider doing AFF from a greater
heights of 10,000 feet!!  Would definitely recommend this to all adrenaline
junkies! The major caveat would be one seems to be always battling against
the British weather.

Thanks again and hope to do AFF sooner rather than later!

The weather was awful and I was debating cancelling, I am so glad that I didn't.                               Nothing could have prepared me for the feeling as I left the aircraft. I jumped on Mothers Day for the NCT and wanted to say thank you to all of you - although at the time I wasn't sure I liked it, by the time the nausea had faded and the pretty bruises appeared, I had decided that actually it was pretty cool and I would definately do it again. But maybe come armed with travel sickness pills!

 

Special thanks to Mark for the DVD - shame about the problem with the camera, but Adam, the baby, was very excited to see his mum on the telly (and the ambulance too - he thought all his Christmases had come at once) and that's good enough for me! Also, there are some amazing shots on the stills, which I wouldn't have got without the camera problems so every cloud.....

I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you for such an amazing
experience, everyone at Redlands was so friendly and helpful!! I did a
tandem skydive to raise funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice yesterday,
(25/09/10) with instructor, and absolute legend, John Dunn. He did a
brilliant job of calming me down when I was shaking with nerves on the
ascent! Please pass on my regards... and apologies for literally
jumping on him and hugging him afterwards!! It was just so incredible,
I was absolutely buzzing, and I just thought it would amuse you all to
know that I got some very strange looks on the train back home to
Cardiff on my lonesome, smiling and giggling to myself. (Considering I
spent most of the morning crying and freaking out!!)
I'm not quite ready to jump solo just yet, but I'll be back again ASAP
for another tandem skydive, bringing lots of friends so they can also
experience the greatest feeling in the world!!

Dear all,

I had my first tandem jump on the 27th of August. I have to say it was the
best experience in my life.
I would like to thank all the staff, for making this event so special for
me!
The whole atmosphere was relaxing, and everyone was very friendly and
looked chilled. I was on the last tadem jump that day. Even though it
wasn't the first jump for the staff that day, they behaved as if they were
doing this for the first time ever, entusiastic, nice, funny and
profectional...
Climbing up in that plane took about 20 min and it was hilarious. I have to
say you guys are crazy,in a very positive way:) You know how to take
people's mind's off of their fears... You made everything looks so easy and
enjoyable. And in fact it is exactly how it looks.
Big thank you to Andy who was my jump partner, who was very supportive,
calm and funny. Thank you for letting me spin us around - it was such fun.
I am planning my next jump with skydive london as soon as possible and lots
of my friends want to do the tandem jump as well. I will see you all soon.

I am very sorry I did not have a chance to say goodbye to Chaz before we left yesterday, but please pass on a massive thank you for being such a great instructor.  He was just great and gave me a fantastic first skydive.  He was a real credit to your company and made me feel completely comfortable – I just hope that I did everything I was supposed to do….it all went past so quickly and I was trying to absorb every second!  So I’m very sorry if I was an awkward passenger!!!

 

I shall certainly be returning for another jump, but in the meantime I can’t thank you enough and would certainly recommend you to anyone considering doing a skydive.

A huge thank-you for chucking us out of an aeroplane on Saturday morning, and bringing us back to earth safely. We both had a wonderful skydiving experience and we raised a total of about £1,700 for Action Against Hunger which is fab.  Both David and I look forward to seeing our photos/videos so that we can re-live every moment (a photo of our own is attached, so that you are never tempted to forget us).

 

As discussed on the day, it would be great if – as well as your final edit - we could have also the raw video footage taken by our cameramen, so we have the option of using bits for future MOF Showreels edited in our studio.

 

In the meantime, it’s good to be alive…so thanks again for looking after us so well. Please tell your landlord that his wife’s bacon and egg sandwiches totally rocked – and I hope we can use you for a parachute stunt/job sometime in the not-too-distant future…

Home safe and sound, the aquarium burbling away the constant noise of the traffic in the distance trying its best to smother the bird song. My most lasting memory of my tandem jump today will be of the "exhilerating silence"  which has re-awakened my somewhat tired and tarnished view of life.

Wow, I didn't think the human body could feel so many extremes of emotions in 45 mins - tremendous!!!

It was one of the most fantastic afternoons I have had, I loved it, OK the anticipation nearly killed me but in a weird way that was the bit I enjoyed

I would like to say a big thank you to Bruce who took me up, sorry I was a bit of f girl in the plane, and to all the staff at the centre, all brilliant, very professional and they really helped to make it a fun event. Especially to the kind lady who gave me three beers at the end (I thought it was a bar! - Whoops - and she wouldn't take any money for them - well needed)

Dear Grant Just a very quick thank you on behalf of the Benevolent Society for helping us organise the skydive last Sunday (20th July). All the staff at the airfield was great and the instructors were amazing, we all had a fantastic day and we have managed to raise over £20K in the process. Dear All,

I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic day I had last Saturday!

Initially, when I received my Red Letter Day experience for my birthday last
year, admittedly, my heart sank. A skydive was NEVER on my 'to do' list,
and I really didn't think that I could do it. Of course, I didn't tell my
family that and, if I'm honest, I only turned up on Saturday because I
didn't want to let them down.

When I met Gerry, my Instructor, I was immediately put at my ease. He was
friendly, reassuring and witty, as was my photographer, whose name, I'm so
sorry to have to say, has escaped me (that'll be an age thing!). He was
really great too... When we were on the plane, I really didn't feel as
nervous as I thought I would. Even when the door opened and we sat with our
feet out at 10,000 feet, I felt secure knowing that Gerry was with me. The
whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish, mainly due to the
professionalism, care and dedication of the Team I was entrusted to.

I have watched my DVD over and over, completely amazed that I DID IT! (I am
also amazed at how quickly the DVD came through - what service!) I will
DEFINITELY do it again, and this from a woman who used to have a fear of
heights and flying!!

So, thank you so much for my experience. Please pass my thanks on to all
those who were with me last week, particularly Gerry. I can honestly say
that the memory will stay with me forever. I'm so glad I did it, and I
can't wait to do it again.

Hello all!

Thank you for all for being so friendly and calming on Sunday when I came up for a tandem skydive.

I thoroughly enjoyed it (after I had had time to get over the excitement!) Andy was spot on when he said we would be asleep in our pints by 8pm.

I have finally finished telling everyone about it and may even drag my brother up to have a go in the future as he thinks he may like to have a go now.

Thank you to Jez for the camera work-I had not realised how many pics he had taken. The pictures are fantastic and the every one loves the DVD-I have not had it since Mon as its still doing the rounds.

And finally thanks to Lee for the ride and uber soft landing!

We just wanted to say thank you to all who were there yesterday when frank did his jump. You are a great team with some wonderful people and so helpful and friendly. He has really seen his 60th B'day in with the experience you gave him.

We are still collecting in our fundraising for breast cancer but will let you know how much we have raised.

I had not realised just how close you actually came to losing them, but Jez's excellent photography showed me. Thought you might like to see for yourself, if you haven't seen it already. I definitely want to jump again, but from higher this time, and do more swoops, turns etc. Would love to receive any advice on how to achieve this. Hope to meet you again one day.

Hi there,

Back in 2000 I lost part of my right forearm during an incident with a neighbour and a shotgun. Due to the skills of the surgeons at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, I still have the arm and my hand is pretty functional.

Thanks to you guys and the staff at Curves gym in South Wales I was able to raise a little more than £500 which I am donating to the Burns and Plastic Surgery unit in Morriston hospital. A mere drop in the ocean by some standards, but a great achievement for me, none the less.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks once again, for what was the most exciting thing that I have done so far. I would have loved to have stayed around and watched everybody else jump, but pressure from elsewhere meant I had to leave.

Many thanks for an excellent skydive experience last week - it was worth the wait.

As a semi-professional writer I make a habit of recording the details of events I have experienced before the memory fades. My take on our skydive is attached. It may end up in a magazine or newspaper one day! Feel free to use any or all of it in your own promotional literature if you want to.

Thanks too to Jeremy for the DVD - very professional. I've now got the Gorillaz and U2 tracks on my ipod!
